Once again Lucifer (drag truck) is living up to his name and acting completely possessed.
First off, I have to say while Lucifer is a giant pain in my ass, he is....well.... there are no words that do him justice.
So yesterday he would NOT stay running in any forward gear, but he had no problem running in park, reverse, or neutral. Hold on it gets worse. Now he would stall all the way up to the burn box, but not after the burn box while staging, which is where all the slow going in first gear is. Hmmmm? Then at the end of the track right I turn off, he would start trying to stall again.
After the first run and Lucifer being a pisspot (taken from my freaky british narrator this past week). I get back to my pit and begin looking at what it could be. Dad checked the timing. This is when Dad decides the truck is being possessed AGAIN. The timing was jumping around for no apparent reason. Since the oil and fuels pressures were great, we decided to run Lucifer again.
Now one would think that with all of his issues, that he would not be consistent. WRONG!!!!!! He was running so consistent it was unbelievable. His times were: 10.718, 10.724, 10.728. While the truck was running quite well, I believe that much of the consistency came from my shifting skills. Okay.... Okay, it was a team effort 50/50.
I won the first round, because my opponent redlit, but lost in the second due to my own redlight. How is that for karma. The funny thing is, is that all of my other drag racing friends went to a different track and 10 of them got out in the second round due to redlights. Damn....that makes 11 of us, on the same night. A little freaky.
In the end Lucifer proved once again that he is charge, but I still think it has to do with my father taking him out of the trailer instead of me. Lucifer just doesn't like anyone else to drive him. Every time someone else tries to move him bad things happen, if you ever get the chance ask my brother. Heh heh heh
