Starting my journey in SG I would like to begin with one of the most important topics of my life: Books.
I would like to thanks @rambo and @missy for the suggestion. <3
I grow up reading a lot, and immerse my life reading classic books mostly because I was fascinated about all related to the past, maybe one day I could understand a little more about the present-future life...(what I thought at the time).
First discover Goethe merely by accident.. I move from Brazil to Spain and while cleaning the house, I found in my cousin rooms a book under the bed, it wasn't that big or either that small. I try read the first words and I believe that couldn't pronounced that well as I don't know speak German.
It was there between my hands one of the most important books of all time: The Sorrows of Young WertherThe quality was not so good, the cover intrigue me, I read the back and after this I sit down in the corner of the sofa and start read it, by the time when I finish it, was already dinner time and I didn't had finish clean the rooms.
I knew the end of the book and made me sad immediately when I read it, but by the time reading the story and all this mess and love, other era, other culture, other ones love...I felt in love with the character and I felt in love with the way how the write describe part of his own story. When it arrive to the last pages and saw what happen I start cry, and was the first and last time I cried reading a book. It felt for me that I lost a lover, a family member, a friend. It was a suicide and those things make me really sad to be honest.
After I finish the book, it became mine. I save it between my books and I put in order of favourite, this one was on the top.
I became a obsess about Goeth and got the chance to read other of his work. Some other amazing pieces like Faust but never touch me more like the first time I read Werther. By the years I back to look on Internet and search about this story, this book, about the author and get to understand more his life style and interest in life.
Goeth is without doubt one of the last genius living in this planet. All his life story and the things he did was incredible and I admire him deeply.
I highly recommend everyone go on Youtube and check out a channel call: School of life. Where they talk about many things related to philosophy, life and much more. They did one of the best short videos talking about Goethe in the case you are curious. :)
I read that was one of the favourite books of Napoleon and that he used to carry on his wallet with him. Part of the story is based on real facts in Goethe's life.
I hope more people get to know this piece and this author. I would love hear about your experience if you ever had read this book before or if you do it after read this blog post. <3
Kiss kiss and enjoy your weekend :*
