-I went to see The Science of Sleep last night with ampersand in celebration of his birthday. It was very sweet and kind of surreal. I'm pretty sure the highlight was the little felt telephone and typewriter that appeared in one of the dream sequences. So very cute.
-The problem with working your arse off for a mid-term assessment is that I now feel like I should be on holiday. Not good considering I still have to translate all my calico garments into real fabric and create three pieces of travelling-circus themed hand embroidery. Boo.
-During my recent adventures in Op-Shopping I picked up the Reality Bites soundtrack, on cassette no less, and I've come to the realisation that I don't know any girls between the approximate ages of 20 and 28 who don't know all the words to Lisa Loeb's song, Stay. Is there anyone out there who contradicts my observations?
-As well as probing my friend's knowledge of melancholy 90's song lyrics, I've found myself asking this question of people a lot - What was the first piece of music (CD, record, tape, 8 track, whatever) you went out and bought of your own volition? Mine was the Oasis-Wonderwall single, I think. But the first CD I ever owned was Chupmunks Rock the House, bought for me by my gran. It contained covers of such classics as Wiggle It, U Can't Touch This and Ice, Ice Baby in which the word "baby" was replaced with "Alvin". Hell yes.
-Finally, anyone who lives in Perth should have a look at this report. It's a little academic but he has some fabulously interesting ideas about the state of Perth living and how we can stop whinging about Perth being such a dull place to live and actually make it more exciting.
