Next door lives a fat, tortoiseshell manx cat. He is adorable and I want to steal him into my house and feed him milk so I can see his little tail-stump wag. The tail-stump reminds me of my little corgi who has recently had to have a golf ball sized tumor cut off her belly. Poor baby, she's getting old and her little legs are slowing down and to add to the indignity she's now covered in shaved patches where they took off the tumor and a couple of cysts as well. Poor girl. So yeah, they're going to do a biopsy on the tumor and see if its malignant or benign and apparently, if it turns out malignant, there's the option of doggy chemotherapy. Which strikes me as the most bizarre thing in the world. Oh well I shall cross my fingers and hope it doesn't come to that.
On slightly brighter topics, my new years was mostly a good one. I got to see a very drunken Nadskichi and a progressively more drunken ampersand along with an assortment of my friends from not the internet. We started at The Scotsman but it was lame and people kept asking us if we were using the chairs that we were saving for my late friends so when they arrived we left and went down to a house party my friends Atari and Juls were having. There was Pictonary playing and daquiris, sparklers at midnight, copious amounts of champagne and randoms from next door who came over bearing apple-flavoured liquor. There were also kisses behind the couch, after dinner mints, discussions of boy-liking with my ex-girlfriend, tiny hat stealing, terribly inappropriate discussions of transitioning from miss kat and four songs by Bloc Party.
Once we'd imposed enough on Atari and Juls' hospitality we somehow ended up at miss kat and my house for a while and, after I did something really very thoughtless, a select few decided to continue on at Amplifier. There was a queue, a kebab and then I went home. So that was my new years celebration. Good times.
I hope you all had a magnificent time. I'm sure you would've. Have you made any heartfelt new years resolutions? I'm going to attempt to give up sugar and tv (bar dvds). Should be entertaining!
