We've got a new baby!!!
For those who don't know, I had a fast delivery. I arrived at the hospital at 10pm on 11/19 after having contractions at home for a few hours and I wasn't dilated at all. They went ahead and admitted me for observations since I was attempting a Vaginal birth after having a C/section. The doctor checked me at about 12:30am and I was only 1 cm but he was able to stretch me to three. Before that point, I was ready to throw in the towel and have a c-section if they would let me. I was discouraged since I hadn't been dilating. After I found out I was, I thought I might be able to do it. Doc came in about 1am and I told him I'd like to try to deliver naturally still. He wanted to come break my water in 15-20 minutes. He broke my water at 1:20am and at that time I was 6-7cm. I immediately felt the urge to push. He checked me a minute later and I was almost fully dilated. They started running to get everything ready to go for Ava's arrival. I started pushing about 1:30 and she was out at 1:39am on 11/20/2006. Her apgars were 9 & 9 so she was very healthy even though she'd had a bowel movement inside. I honestly don't know how women go without pain meds for long labors. I was only in the hospital for 3 hours and 39 minutes before she was born and I was so close to begging to be put out of the pain. The recovery has been so much easier than it was with the twins. We're all adjusting and working at breast feeding. I'm seriously tired, but SO happy to have a healthy baby girl and to not be pregnant anymore.
I left out gory details! Be thankful, cause a different story will be posted on the pg group!
