So, we are back home! The cruise was wonderful. It was time to come home though. Now, it's laundry and laundry and laundry! How I hate laundry!
The kids were so great too. They enjoyed their kids program so much. We had excellent food, excellent service and everything was simply the best. Except our room. We booked an inside cabin which was teeny tiny. My parents had a mini suite which I totally want next time! I'm surprised though. I think Jason actually had a good time! When we first were getting there, he didn't have much of a reaction. You get on this huge ship with luxurious everything, and he still didn't react. It wasn't until we were walking around before setting sail that it actually hit him that the ship was pretty impressive.
Our time home was a bit of a pain. My mom booked the flights for all of us, and mistakenly put in Feb 18th and not Mar 18th. We were still able to get on the same flight, but that was delayed and we weren't back in AZ until later than we anticipated.
My Granny went with us on the cruise. She booked more than a year ago as well, but her health was really bad through the entire cruise. She hardly came out of her cabin. When we left from Phoenix, she was so drugged up! She fell on the plane, almost fell in LA. She kept falling asleep in her motor scooter when in the different lines. My mom was so pissed because she basically drugged herself up on morphine pills before she actually had pain and made it next to impossible for her to travel.
Her health seems to really be failing. I don't think she has much longer to live. She went home from LA to SLC with one of my Aunt's and Uncle who also went on the cruise. My aunt is a Registered Nurse and she also has a doctor in SLC that she trusts. We'll see what they have to say about her condition when she gets to the doctor. It was painful to watch her though.
Lots of stuff happened while we were out. I was off work the Friday before we left to get ready for the trip. My friend and co-worker called me up to tell me that they had let the Director go. This man has worked for the Tribe for 26 years and is a community member. There was an audit recently with a few findings, but nothing terrible, like embezzling. He'd just had an outstanding evaluation by the previous Lt. Governor but they were dead set on getting rid of him. So he's grieving it. He knew it was coming, but just wasn't sure when and for what reason they would use. He's also involved with the Deputy Director, and he kept thinking they were going to use that as the reason. Even though it's not a great situation and they both know it, they're not violating any policy. So I'm going back to work to a new boss, who I hear is actually pretty nice but clueless when it comes to the Admin part.
The other thing that happened was my old babysitter who's my great friend's daughter went into preterm labor when her water broke at 5 months (I think). This was last Saturday. Friday night she delivered but the baby didn't make it. She only weighed 1lb 7oz. Pretty terrible to have to plan burrying your baby. I couldn't imagine being in that situation.
I also never posted that my little sissy is pregnant. She was a little sick on the cruise, but looks marvelous. I'll be trying to make it to Charleston, SC towards the end of October to be with her when she has the baby.
So... back to the laundry.

It was nice that you could spend some time together as a family without the distractions of work !
