Okay, so I've never been a politically-charged person...so this was a first for me.
BUT, considering the economic environment we live in, maybe it's time I did something. Below is a link (courtesy of Delta Air Lines) for a very easy process to show your support for House and Senate versions of a bill that will drastically curtail energy commodities speculation. This bill may not be the answer, but it's certainly worth a try. In a nutshell: Under current rules, a speculator only needs to come up with 10% of the price of a future they are purchasing. This language significantly increases the amount of up-front money a speculator would have to provide in order to buy that future. Some economists believe this may drastically reduce the current market value of oil.
Our ability to put food on the table is directly influenced by the rising price of oil. Please help me do your part by taking a few short minutes to support this bill. Forward this message along!
