THE FINE ART OF THE MIX TAPE -
There are a few factors to take into consideration when making a mix tape/CD. A great mix should reflect not only your tastes, but those of the recipient. The songs should have a logical flow begin with a catchy tune to hook the listener in, build up to your heaviest songs in the middle of the mix, then gradually bring it back down to a satisfying closing. If you have are having trouble with the tracklisting, try pairing up songs and working around them, or choosing a theme. You should listen back once youve completed your mix and make sure each song runs smoothly into the next. Transition is all important. It might be a rude shock for the listener to be blasted with New Noise by Refused after theyve just been serenaded by the dulcet tones of Back to You by John Mayer. Stick to these guidelines and you cant really go wrong.
With this in mind, I created an awesome mix CD to see in the year 2004
