good friend will be here thursday (which i took off) to stay with us
and attend the demolition derby on the fourth

my washington tradition on the fourth...has been to attend the demolition derby in monroe
monroe is like an hour out of seattle
this i think will be the fourth year in a row
we love it
it is loud, hot, sticky and long
there are scary people and scarier music
but
the races and the fireworks R O C K
we like to get there early afternoon to save seats (with duct tape and blankets, i know, i know) and then depending on the weather go and find a spot by the river to have a little picnic
the races go from maybe two until maybe even after ten and then there is the best fireworks display i've ever seen, but with bad 'american' music
then tons of people go out to the parking lot (read big field) and light their own fireworks for at least an hour

i never had good '4th's' but... i do now


yeah, i know i haven't been around much
and i couldn't really care less
