Snowstorms and Comics
Today has been a nice little day so far. Very literary!
I met with my book club this morning. Discussed the book Night and had some good discussions. I always feel I should be more insightful than I am. But I always enjoy it. Then the conversation moved towards religion which I guess isnt surprising considering the book. After that the topic was weddings as one of the girls in my group is getting married soon.
It was a bit of a nerve wracking drive getting to my book club. There was a blizzard and crazy high winds happening at the same time. Heres my street as I was heading out. You dont get the full effect in this photo - but trust me - it was bad. I stayed on the highway for a bit but could feel the car moving in the wind and the road was snow covered. I decided when I passed a car on its roof in the ditch surrounded my emergency vehicles it was time to switch to back roads.
On the way home I was dropping two of the girls off at the bus stop when I realized I was right beside a comic book and gaming store called The Wizards Tower (yes geeky).
Popped in and picked up some comic books and then came home and amalgamated all my new books and comics.
Im like a kid in a candy store!
Ive read Preacher. It was a touch disturbing, but very good. Its the artwork that gets me there were three parts in particular the really turned my stomach. But Im also very curious to find out what happens next. I can see another trip to the comic store happening soon.
Now Im curled up in bed with one of the dogs. The other is being annoying and worked up and barking and huffing downstairs. Hmmm perhaps a Hellboy now
