Three Trips to Emergency

Trip 3: Boats!

For three summers I worked for a cruise line that did dinner and dance cruises in the Toronto harbour. I wore many hats tour guide, ticket seller, bartender and server.

On the night in question I was bartending. I was working one of my first shifts on a boat called the Captain Matthew Flinders. It held about 500...

You know this might actually fall under the head of High heel related injuries. Ok one last time remember Heel toe heel toe. That's how you walk in heels.
stiles:
Um, ouch?

Anyway, you're now in SGMC. Merry christmas! biggrin

Trip 2: Alcohol!

Remember when you turned 19 and could legally drink? I could drink two Mikes Hard Lemonades (what was I thinking blech) and be a tipsy happy girl for an evening. I would then drink two glasses of water before bed and be perfectly fine in the morning.

However, Ive never been particularly good at self-regulation. So sometimes I...

Three Trips to Emergency

Trip 1: Rats!

My first trip to the emergency department happened when I was twelve years old. I was in Grade 7 science class that was the year that science class consisted of learning through paper plane contests and building bridges with straws and glue to see which could hold the most boxes of chalk. It was also the year of...

Awww... I know. I didn't blame the rat - and they were taken home by a family to be pets - so it probably worked out better for them in the end.

Also, I would much rather deal with ROUSes than flame spurts or lightning sand.

Freckles

I defy you to find anyone with more freckles than me.

Of course, when I was a child I hated them. I was called Freckleface. My sister would chase me down and taunt me about how I even had freckles under my hair.

I remember being a child at the swimming pool in my favourite striped bathing suit. A younger child came up to...

One should reach boys how sexy freckles will look later that way they have a head start.

I love your freckles too! biggrin
It's always funny how the last person to appreciate certain features is the person who has them. Glad you learned to embrace them.

When I was 19 I fell in love. I fell hard.

I met DumaBoy at a club when I was in University. He was 29 to my 19. Our relationship is another story entirely but important to this story is that I thought he was the coolest, most intelligent person ever, and he had just returned from being a scuba diving guide in Honduras.

I...

Had a friend ask me a couple of months ago if I would be more scared of skydiving or diving. I said diving cause of that whole rapture of the deep (and some people just will randomly take out the resperator in a fit of panic). Didnt think of doing a technicolor yawn.
And chickens, usually a bad sign.

First Kiss

I had my first kiss when I was 17. Keep in mind, I always liked the bad boys.

In grade 12 at 17 years of age I was trying so badly to not be the geeky kid I was. I wore my 10-hole Doc Martins and my secondhand flannel shirt. I think, looking back, I was pretty cute - but I was also...

Thats a sweet story. I started getting a sixteen candles feel. I was 17 as well and got a call from my next door neighbor (3/4 a mile away ah life in the mountains). She had a friend who had a crush on me so we all snuck out at night and walked through the woods to meet (she was a basketball player much higher than the optimum 5'3). Well yada yada yada she just ups and kisses me. I was quite shocked by how far someone can stick a tongue in your mouth if they are really trying.

The dogs are curled up in front of the fire and the house has a warm quietness. This would all be very christmas-y if I had any decorations up yet. And cookies - I would have to be baking cookies. I'll aim for that next weekend.

The most productive part of my day has been reading Suite Francaise. To think this is so well written...

It is extremely hard to motivate myself to get off the couch when I have my Hudson's Bay blanket wrapped around me and I can see the freezing rain crystalizing on the window. Add to that two hounds cuddled up to me and, well, I'm here for a while.

Can we express this in the form of an equation?

MC = TD - (F x...

Hmmm... it depends on the affection level of the cat. on average BH=2C^a

Of course: BH = Bassset Hound; C=Cat; a=affection.

I have yet to crack how the Basset Hound ear surface area factors into the equation.

Ah the Tardis has landed. Nice thing about a time machine is I can see the beginning. An equation. Perfect. You two have interesting times coming your way. Hold the course. Don't give up. You are good to each other. Ok got to go back to the present. Enjoy the ride you two.
