spent last night laying on the dusty floor of my
studio with a friend of mine... completely drunk...
talking about love and fate and life... seeing
April again was strange... really really strange.
I couldn't stop staring at her as if I haven't seen
her in years... when she drinks, she changes...
and a couple of times she came dangerously close
to me... I wanted to run. Instead I stayed.
and got drunk. And ended up at the studio with
Tim... we slept on the floor, hearing the cars
go by on the highway... he's a writer and a poet...
and he dated her too a while back... so we have
more than one connection... we talked about her,
and how she can't deal with someone loving her...
she just can't. and how each of us first met her...
and how it all ended. and where we are now.
something he said stuck in my mind -
"man, we're heroes for having such tragic hearts..."
well, you're looking at a hero... my medals are
pinned to my bare chest... I'm the captain in command
of this sinking ship... and believe me I will be the
last to go...

Dont tell me to stop
Tell the rain not to drop,
Tell the wind not to blow
Cause you said so;
Tell me love isnt true
Its just something we do,
Tell me everything Im not
But dont tell me to stop
Tell the sun not to shine
Not to get up this time,
Let it fall by the way,
Leave me where I lay;
Tell the leaves not to turn
But dont tell me Ill learn,
Take the black off a crow
But dont tell me to go
Tell the bed not to lay
Like the mouth of a grave,
Not to stare up at me
Like a calf on its knees;
Tell me love isnt true
Its just something we do,
Tell me everything Im not
But dont tell me to stop

song: black heart procession - square heart from album #1
"let's go down with the ship
let's sink into oblivion
let's go down with the ship
let's sink into, let's sink into the blue"
not very profound, but a very pretty song (vast)
