Sorry to bitch about medications all the time. It's just that so much of my life is wrapped up in this. My life is basically on hold till I get better or the Army retires me.
I had to stop taking the last medication I was given, Diamox. I started to have adverse reactions and I think my kidneys were starting to be affected. My eyes started to turn yellow and my feet and face started to tingle, pins and needles like. It sucked. My headaches were less painful but did not go away. I was still getting dizzy. I stopped taking the Diamox on Friday and today my eyes are finally looking normal. Because of the brain injury, I am 10 to 20 times more likely to suffer from Alzheimer's. Due to the Airborne life I'll have arthritis sooner and more severe than if I didn't jump from airplanes.
The crazy thing is I love the Army. I wanted to deploy with my unit back to Afghanistan for my third time, my 5th deployment. I miss it. And it's over. My career is done. No more jumping, no more deploying.
Oh well, my life has changed, but it's far from over.
