My co-worker caught it (a Northern Alligator Lizard) somewhere and brought it back to work with him, and had it in his office. The poor thing had been there for the past 4 days without water or food. Seeing as how I've always loved these guys (they can have a nasty attitude), I decided to bring her home with me. I set up a temporary terrarium, and bought some crickets. She (and I'm only assuming here because it doesn't have a broad/pronounced head like a male would) seems to be pretty docile and has allowed me to handle her more than a few times already. When I placed her into a feeding cage, she tried to escape but calmed down when she saw the crickets. I let her be while she fed (don't want to stress her) and when I got back, she had eaten all 5.
Anyway, my gushing aside, I know I can't keep her. She belongs in the wild. So once the weather clears up I'll release her. As much as I love having a lizard again, she doesn't deserve to be caged.
