Hello SG Land, how are you doing? ππ
Yesterday I visited a lovely place near by Lake Balaton and had a fun time along with the beautiful lavenders.
The place is called Tihany. Tihany is a village on the northern shore of Lake Balaton. Tihany is famous for the echo, existing since the 18th century.
It also has the best view of Lake Balaton and famous of the beautiful Lavender fields.
(these two pictures are from Google, the others are taken by me)
The lavender plantation blooming at the turn of June-July is a special attraction on the shores of Balaton. It is said that at this time the entire inner island of Tihany turns into a butterfly valley. Lavender plays an important and prominent role in Tihany life, and there are still notable traditions of growing and processing lavender. In honor of this noble plant, the Lavender Festival is organized every year on the shores of BelsΕ-tΓ³, which also provides an opportunity for local amateur art groups to perform.
An important role in the event is played by the folk art stall fair and craft playhouse, where visitors can first of all learn about the different ways of processing lavender.
I've also found a really intriguing building which was named as Paprika House, the Paprika House present the success story of the world-famous "red gold of Kalocsa". Visitors can get acquainted with the past, the production and use of spice paprika. Many souvenirs are available in addition to the ornately packaged paprika, which are decorated with paprika motifs, typically wooden spoons, tablecloths, tea towels, aprons, spice holders, plates, porcelain ornaments, etc.
I hope you enjoyed reading this little blog. π
