It's been one hell of a week. Seem to be on a bad luck run!
Started 3am Tuesday morning when I was woken by a blood curdling scream from my girlfirend. She'd been suffering from pretty bad acid indigestion and was recently diagnoised as having a Hiatus Hernia (basically means that the normal way to stop stomach acid coming up isn't there). But these was bad. She screamed the house down in pain for 30 minutes then was violently sick after which it eased off and she fell back alseep. Not me though, so spent Tuesday in work like a zombie.
Roll onto Wednesday. As I'm nearing the end of my accounting qualification I have 2 more things to do. One was an exam which I did today and the other is a project to submit. I got an e-mail a few weeks back from the qualification people saying that if I'm on the old syllabus (in a moment of genius they introduced a new one in my last year!) I have to submit a Project proposal by May the 6th or I can't qualify. So, to get some ideas on how to go about this I contact them by e-mail a few weeks back. They send an e-mail back saying as I've been moved on the new syllabus that the deadline doesn't affect me. Fair enough, I then concentrate on studying for the exam. To Wednesday, and some mentions to me to double check, just in case. So I e-mail again, got a response later that day, yes..you have to submit it by the 6th of May...i.e-2 days time. So, I spent that night writing a 10 page submission, e-mailed it over at 11pm and then studied.
Roll on Thursday. Get an e-mail back from them asking me to rewrite some sections. All this and they know I have an exam the next day. Shortly after I get a phone call in work. My girlfriend has been sent to hospital with possible liver problems. So I run out work straight up to the hospital. After 10 hours of sitting in a room it turns out it's gall stones and one has lodged in her billary tract, infecting her blood and turning her yellow. So they admit her to hospital. I race back home, rewrite the report...study....get to bed.
Today. Exam in the morning. Person who is running the exam shows up 30 minutes late! Despite studying every day for 2 months there are a number of questions in the first section that I have no idea about (reading the syllabus later I realise why...they aren't covered on the syllabus!). Leave that exam furious, feeling I've been very screwed over. Straight up to the hospital. They've decided they're keeping my g/f in over the weekend. She's not happy and either am I (they are shockingly bad in this hospital). Worse thing is we have tickets to go to London on Wednesday, hotel booked and tickets to see the Wall by Roger Waters, tickets we booked 18 months ago...and it now looks like we may not make it. 400 in total down the drain as we can't get refunds on anything! To be honest I'll just be happy when my g/f gets out healthy.
It's so annoying though. They told her the reason they're keeping her in is to take her bloods everyday and give her an anti-biotic drip every day over the weekend. She texted me at 11pm tonight, they still hadn't done it! Why keep her in if they're not going to do the anti-biotics course?
Still, sitting here, trying not to move just in case anything else awful happens to me. Trying to get into Eric Clapton as a friend bought me his book for my b/d recently. Not happening though. Cream stuff I get, Layla (the Derek & the Dominos version) I love but his solo stuff is pretty indulgent blues rip off!
Anyway, enough of that. Have a good weekend everyone

Sorry you are having a streak of bad luck! I hope things start to improve. Tell your girlfriend I hope she feels better. I totally know what she is going through. I had a similar problem four years ago. Unfortunately for me though, by the time they found out I had all these problems, the stomach acid had permanently damaged my vocal cords leaving me with a slight rasp, the hernia had grown so big that it completely moved my stomach into my diaphragm and was resting on my lungs slowly smothering me. So all in one day I had several surgical procedures done. They stretched my esophagus and put in a gate to prevent acid from coming into there, they removed the hernia, which severely damaged my lungs, and had the lap band procedure. Good news, I did not die and lost over 100lbs due to the weight loss lap band procedure. Sadly though, I found out last week that the esophagus procedure will probably need to be repeated since so much time has passed and I am once again experiencing symptoms of heart burn. I wish this on no one. So I will be praying for your girlfriend. As for yourself, keep that chin up and do not forget to smile. It has to sunshine soon after it rains. The black clouds do not cover us forever. Trust me.
