I hate colds! That time of year where I get them constantly. Shame, because I love the winter, especially the crisp mornings and nights. But, sitting her, bunged up and feeling like crap, just want to curl up in bed and read till I sleep, then wake up, read some more, fall asleep again...you get the point! Instead, I have to sit in work surrounded by cold relief crap and tissues. Reminds me of a poem I once heard:
And so I sit here all bunged up,
my head feels like crap
my nose has run so far away,
I just want to nap,
And the monkey cold is on my shoulder
But a monkey he is not,
And the use of that line,
lets me ryhme with snot.....
Now it gets kinda gross,
as mucus is an issue,
and again I've used that line,
just to rhyme with tissue,
oh, sneezing is a world of fun,
if you want to lose your head,
and now I shall disappear,
thats right...straight to my bed...
I believe the original was by Shakespeare, obviously I've translated from the old English. He called it "Dou hath Snot" and some people suggest he used Mucus instead of snot but was forced to change it by the Daily Mail who got offended! Wow, he really knew how to write, got straight to the point, really spoke to me.
I'm off now to feel like crap!
