Stopped by to wish you a happy thanksgiving, and tell you that I'm glad to have met you, if only virtually. And here I get a bonus journal entry I hadn't yet seen... mmmm and the answer to the question from last time. That really is fascinating.
My earliest memory? Hmm, predates indy. Predates tut. I think it was in 1st or 2nd grade, when I first heard anything about pyramids and such. My first thought was that I wanted to explore it. Not from a kid on the jungle gym standpoint, but from a check out everything in it and discover its secrets kind of way. Reading about tut kind of fueled that fire and added color to the idea of what I imagined an archaeologist did (hey I was young).
Questions for you... what are your thoughts on the ossuary that's been in the news? And one more, do you have an opinion or theory regarding the Sphinx's paw?
my earliest memory of archaeology is reading about heinrich schliemann finding troy and mycenae. i was 7 or 8. it was a book i got because i was into greek mythology.
i realized the other day that i never found a projectile point in belize.
