So I and a bunch of friends had a long weekend down at my parents. We swung thru Wisconsin Friday evening on the way and picked up a bunch of illegal fireworks. The big show to be Saturday night. So we are there friday night and we decide to set off a few of the freebie fireworks. I thought it would be a good idea to set this cake firework on a big round very very dry hay bail. Did you know that once a hay bail starts on fire it is virtually impossible to put it out? I had to stay up most of the night with a hose making sure the fire didn't spread. My parents live at the end of a deadend road over looking a huge wooded valley and burning haybail had the whole valley full of smoke. Now a big group of my friends have a new nickname for me that they are going to try to make stick.
Johnny Blaze or JB (we will see if it sticks)
It may just stick though cause friends say they have been waiting years for me to screw up.
Haybail fires turn out to be very cool, very hot. The tall flames of Friday night may have made $400 dollars of fireworks (which were atleast 2 for ones, but a lot of them were 3 for ones) shot off on Saturday night less impressive?

it would be a lot more convenient to call it a "will & grace" but unfortunately it's not at all like that. I'll have to blog about it soon when i'm in the mood for reminiscent storytelling
