So already I am in Buenos Aires over a week and it's been a ton of fun. It started with the birthday party from my last blog. That was on the day after I arrived.
Saturday night Krito, Paprika, and her boyfriend, asdeputas and I wandered around bar to bar and singing and dancing to Die Antwoord songs in the street. I'm sure we looked like fools, but it didn't matter much to us.
Sunday I cooked an American styled brunch for 12 people (I think, it may have been more) and then we went swimming on the rooftop pool of the apartment I rented.
Caseopia and I had lunch together on Monday and then she helped me get a local cell phone so I could start my job search. I'm looking to cook part or full time until I can get my own place up and running. And soon I'll be starting the immigration process. It might turn out to be more complicated than I expected, but one way or another I'll figure it out.
On Valentine's night Krito and I had a really nice dinner together. It was a blast, because she doesn't speak English and while my Spanish is very poor we were able to communicate pretty good without having to resort to Google translator (ok, maybe we used it a little.) We still spent most of the night laughing (with each other, not at each other).
Wednesday night I cooked (with a lot of help) homemade gnocchi with pesto sauce for Talena, Prussia, and their boyfriends. And finally had a chance to sit down and get to know Talena. Super cool girl. At the party there were so many people to meet that there was no way to talk to everyone. I still have to get a chance to get to know Tangerine and Gineba.
And last night I went to dinner at Emmanuel's house for her birthday dinner. I got to meet her family including her very cool uncle who is a painter. He invited me to come to his house for a cooking challenge. That should be very fun.
Tonight is another party for Emmanuel, but this time is with friends in a bar. Should be a pretty big crowd of the usual suspects. I'm looking forward to it.
