Exactly 6 weeks til I leave. Right about this time (in 6 weeks) I will be landing in Miami and then catching my connection to Buenos Aires. I feel such a strange combination of emotions. Nervous about succeeding, anxious to go and get things started already, but mostly excited to live in an incredible city, and spend time with my wonderful friends there.
Things are mostly set up for my arrival. My good friend Prussia has invited me to stay with her. She has an amazing 3 bedroom house and she's letting me use the guest room for my first 2 months. This is good for both of us because for two weeks of that time she's going to be in Miami with her boyfriend, so I'm going to look after her pets and plants. And it gives me time to sort out things with immigration.
I leave the States on February 8th and arrive the next day on my birthday. I think this is the best gift I will ever receive in my life. And even better is I'm co-hosting a party the next night with SG Krito with whom I share the same birthday. I rented a cool location for a few days where we are going to have the party and then I'm going to also host the first brunch for Yanqui Tom's and also a Valentine's Dinner. It's not the place I had originally had in mind, but I made sure that we'd have a pool to go swimming. I'm used to shoveling the walk on my birthday, so it'll be really nice to be sitting around in shorts instead.

The kitchen is nice and leads to a big balcony.

And the pool is on the roof of the building.

Not huge, but it'll do.
I plan on making some food for the party.
Brushetta with Tomato, Fresh Mozzarella, and Basil
Rosemary Roasted Potatoes
2 types of Foccocia one stuffed with Tomato, Onion, Provalone, and Lettuce. And the other with Ham and Provolone
Bacon Wrapped Shrimp
Eggplant Rolentine with Ricotta, Roasted Red Peppers, and Basil
And Krito is bringing the cake!
I'll be bringing some of our American candies with me. They really went over well the last time I brought them.

I woke up to 5 empty bowls.
In April I'll be getting a place for 3 months where I can host dinner parties for the Puerta Cerrada, but part of my concept is that it won't always be in the same place, So for the winter months of July and August (yes, it feels funny saying that) I found an absolutely beautiful apartment with a fireplace. I'm still in the process of reserving it, but hopefully there aren't any issues.
Check it out.

It's a little expensive, but if the restaurant is bringing in enough customers by then it'll pay for itself in one week. I hope.
The sales of nearly everything I own have been going well. I do still have to sell my car, some of my electronic music equipment, and some of my kitchen appliances. But at this point I already have enough money to leave, so anything else that sells is just gravy.
I am just counting down the days now.
