Ironically after loving the B-52's for I dunno, about 25 years or so, and yet never having seen them it turns out that after my last post they are coming to NJ to play in my hometown. FOR FREE.
Had a great weekend all around. On Friday night I went into the city to meet up with a complete stranger from Australia and go out dancing. Let me give you the back story. I make tunes and have a myspace page for my project that has really helped me do well. It gets hits from all around the world. So a few weeks back I got a message from this girl requesting information on what clubs might be worth checking out while she was in town. I gave her a bit of advice, but told her to contact me when the date got closer for the specific DJs that would be playing.
I forgot all about it until last week when she wrote me again. So, I gathered up some info and sent it over to her. Of course I checked out her picture page to see if she was cute and she only really had one picture that showed what she kind of looked like.
We made plans to meet before hand and get some food, then hit the club. All I can say is I was not expecting this girl to be so incredibly cute. She danced like crazy and so did I. Now anyone who knows me know that it takes a lot for me to go out on a dance floor. I'm a DJ, but like a gym teacher who loves sports, but can't play worth a damn, I can't dance all that well.
I know some people love accents and make a big fuss over how cute they are, but her having one didn't matter to me. She was a firecracker. I mean if she a Scottish accent that might have been the death of me.
I had to cut out early and left her at the club around 3:30 and she was still going. Hopefully I'll get the chance to see her again before she heads home, but we haven't made any plans just yet.
Saturday I was up at 9 am after getting in from Brooklyn just four hours earlier. This, to head south to Maryland for the White Trash BBQ. Infinity, decpetiviewfilm and Sharona1881 all met up at my house and we drove down together.
It was an uneventful drive down that had bits of traffic, a stop for lunch, me telling a few crazy stories from my younger days, and a stop at the grocery store for some supplies for the BBQ.
Once we got there the drinking started right away and didn't stop until 11 and half hours later. Now you would think I got incredibly drunk considering this, but for some reason I must have paced myself too well and never even got buzzed. Weird. I did eat a lot of food and had great conversations with a bunch of people, so overall I had a blast.
The trip back north was peaceful and I was able to take a nice nap. Until all of a sudden the car started making noises that sounded like the muffler fell off. Shocked out of sleep and with the right side shoulder of the highway out of service for construction we pulled over to the small shoulder next to the high speed lane. We had hit the broken end of a bungee cord with the hook still attached and it punctured one of the tires. Once we had that changed out, which took way longer than it should have, it was off to Pep Boys for a plug in the flat tire. After that it was pretty much a nice ride and we all felt very relieved that non of us got killed while stopped to change the tire.
I liked this past weekend.

in all seriousness tho, that's the hardest part of my decision. she does not think she is ready for a move that big. and i don't hold that against her.
but thank you for the good (and frank) opinion, that's what i needed
