well, i think it was like 116 yesterday. wackiness. nothing to do in this heat but drink beer and listen to METAL. i am going through a metal revival. i bought Sunn 0)))'s cd and an Earth cd today. finally someone thought of ambient metal. Sunn 0)))... it's just two guitarists and some occasional guest vocalists doing chants and stuff, and long sustained throbbing distorted guitar notes, like oak trees vibrating in the sun... i played it so loud my roof was vibrating. i like music that i feel has the potential to chance my molecular structure if i play it loud enough. like the cd cover says "Maximum Volume Yields Maximum Results".
in other music news i'm listening to yo yo ma's non-performance of bach's cello suites. it sounds like he's watching tv while playing.
also listening to asad ali khan, who plays the rudra veena, an instrument which is the ancestor of the sitar. there are only two masters of this instrument still living and recording, and he is one of them. oh well, i suppose all of the great arts of humanity will be lost to history eventually... that's just the way it is.
well, i'm off to listen to metal and play baldur's gate, in which i hope to obtain the masterwork warhammer of frost! geek out! i feel that i am cheating myself by listening to metal and playing rpg's, yet not being a pothead. oh well, i gotta be me.
