An evening that warrants an entry. Liz is now here. For those of you that I don't communicate with on a daily basis, she is my "squeeze." I guess she's better with computers than I thought, and she managed to dig up an email from about 7 months ago that incriminated me. See, we've had these issues the last couple of times that we've met...

What a great day. All my buddies showed up to watch the superbowl on my new 42" plasma. My living room was full of conversation and food and an atmosphere of relaxation. Philidelphia lost, which made me happy. *I've hated the Eagles since the early 80's, when they severly injured Danny White with a late, and might I add CHEAP, hit.*

I can't sleep.... why does this always happen on the weekends. *grumble grumble* Now I'll have to sleep in and waste my day off. I was going to use tomorrow to take a nap. So much for that!
I'm feeling my immune system has successfully removed about 3.4 billion germs since yesterday. Remind me to give it a raise. I feel soooo much better. The...

Well, today was significant in that I accomplished almost nothing. Everything was done by 9 AM. I gave a couple of classes to some Lieutennants, and had a soda.
It's snowing outside and traffic is at a standstill in most places. Wow.

I'm going to take a few days to collect my thoughts on where my life is going. I just learned that a soldier that subscribed to this site got lit up. I was looking at his pictures that people have posted, and I couldn't help but think that he could easily have been my troop. What would have happened if I had not brought Tony,...

Thank you.
Thank you for your post here. Thank you for having the guts to say this war is wrong, and thank you for renewing your care for our soldiers, our friends and children. Thank you for understanding that many of us truly do care about the people serving in the military, though we actively oppose the present war. You will never know how much it meant to me to read that.
Your post about Michael Smith made me cry, for him, for all of us. I came here to say something about how powrful your writing was, and how your words affected me, and the essay here made me cry more.
Thank you for taking your job seriously and working to keep these kids safe. You're right, they all made the choice to serve for their own reasons, but their families want them home again, simply because they love them. I'll be thinking of you, and holding good thoughts for your safe return.

I had my guys work late today. It's just past 10 PM, and I think I inflicted an appropriate amount of suckficity and sense of accomplishment upon my team. Maybe now they'll do what I tell them to do, when I tell them to do it.
So I dropped 40 bucks on a couple of pizzas and some soda, spent 15 minutes explaining to them...

Another Christmas has come and gone, and it may has well have been just another day. I talk to the family, and conveyed my wishes of yuletide joy, etc. It was unsatifying to say the least. BUT LET ME TELL YOU WHAT IS SATISFYING!!! I have finished the bedroom. The walls are painted and the flooring is in. I didn't do a great job with...

today is the last work day before the christmas weekend. I celebrated by shamming out of PT with Brent. I will now steal a nap while I wait to go back to work. Yay!
So this morning I woke up to a phone call. I was up until 4 am last night, and was informed at 7 am this morning that I have CQ (Charge of Quarters) duty. Which means that I have to babysit the barracks for the next 24 hours. So, in essence... Adam gets no sleepies. The best part is that no one told me, so...

Cool Beans! The gas guy just showed up, and moved my dryer out of the kitchen! (Yes, I said the kitchen.) It's now in the spare bedroom-storage-laundry room. I'm in the early phases of this huge project of making this little hole of an appartment more livable for two people. Liz is coming out here in a couple of months, and I can feel the...

Work continues to be an emotional challenge. The more time that I spend there, the more I realize that the hard part is not the actual labor that I am expected to perform, it's all the little side items that pop up throughout the course of the day that make me want to...

Wow... I haven't written anything in forever. I guess I should concentrate more on not working 14 hours a day, and start spending some time thinking about me. I wonder if my bosses would understand if I was like "well, i need to go home and update my journal on this online blog, that's surrounded by naked tattooed women." Might get a laugh.
Well, stuff...
