Someone jumped in front of a train this morning. I hate when that happens. Because I live at a terminus of a train line, if something happens between here and 2 towns away (where this line connects to another), me along with several thousand other people are pretty much stuck. And for some reason, they always jump either in the middle of rush hour, or right before. On this line, it probably happens on average 2 times a year or something. This time I was stuck for about an hour, so it wasn't as bad as a couple of times before.
I personally think jumping in front of a train is a selfish way to go. I can understand some people want to step out of their life (I'm depressive myself), but I condemn ways that deeply affect a lot of people. And not just the (literally) thousands of people that get stuck untill the mess is cleaned up. Just think about the engineer. Commuter trains travel at around 80 mph here, and at that speed it takes several hundred yards to come to a complete stop. There's nothing the guy can do, when he sees a jumper it's already too late. Then there's the conducter, people at the front of the train that see it happen, police and cleaners with buckets to clean up the remains, not a pleasent experience for them either.
Anyway, sorry for the rant. I'm kinda spoiled and selfish when it comes to the daily commute.
Tomorrow I'm going to see National Treasure 2, yay!

Someone did that yesterday here. It was downtown, not close to rush hour, but it did affect my friend.
