Only a few more days untill I fly to the United States . I had planned Monday and Tuesday off, to pack all my stuff and tidy up the place before I leave. But due to some rush jobs coming in this week at work, I haven't been able to tie up all of the loose strings that need to be taken care of before I leave. So I have to come in on Monday to finish that up. I'm sure I can pack everything in one day, but I would have liked to have a long weekend to forget about work and take my time to prepare before I leave. Enough about work though.
Cat turned out to be a girl, so I named her Tara . Last night was the first time I let her upstairs with me (wanted to make sure she was properly house-broken before letting her in the bedroom), and she stayed with me all night. Tara can't sit still. When we were getting ready to sleep, she kept changing positions. She tried laying against me a a few times, on different sides. Then she decided she wanted to be close to my face. First she layed down with her butt in my face. Then she turned around and stuck her tail up my nose. Followed by her turning over so her nose was against mine, and licking my eye lids. Then it was time for her butt in my face again, followed by putting her paws (and nails!) on my nose, her head on my nose, and licking my eye lids again. Rinse, repeat, for the next 45 minutes or so . She finally decided on laying her head right in front of my nose, and fell asleep. When I woke up around 5 am to go to the bathroom, I couldn't find her. She wasn't on the bed, nor downstairs, nor did she answer when I called her (she loves to talk, and always answers when I say something). I finally found her when I picked up the comforter that I kicked off of the bed during the night because it was so hot: she managed to get completely underneath. She must have been sound asleep, because she didn't even notice me almost stepping on her twice. And she was so groggy when I took her out from under the comforter.
She repaid me for waking her up by chewing on my toes a few hours later and waking me up in the proces. She repeated doing that throughout the morning, as well as gnawing on my fingers. Apparently my toes and fingers taste yummy .
I don't have much else really. I'm supposed to go to a friend's birthday tonight, but I don't really want to go. Loosing Monday is kind of making me stress about whether or not I have anough time to pack and clean up my place. Plus she's sharing her birthday with one of her friends, and I'd need to find out where her friend lives. I also don't know that other person, should I bring a gift? And if so, what should I bring?
I kind of want to go because I haven't seen her much lately, but I also don't feel like going out and spending several hours at a party that I could have really used for other stuff. Maybe I'm blowing this whole thing out of proportion. When I'm stressed, I always feel like I never have enough time to do everything I need to do. Even if in reality there's still plenty of time.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend .
EDIT:
Seems my mom was on the news yesterday. She works in a mailroom with 3 other women, and they recieved an envelope with some kind of powder in it. It turned out to be fake (fortunately) after it was rushed to a lab, but their whole department went in quarantine from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm. Police, fire department, EMT and CDC were all there, and the building was locked down for hours. Poor manager, he was locked in with 4 women talking his head off for 8 hours .
I'm just glad it all ended well. My mom said they spent more time making fun of eachother's paper underwear and coveralls (the company was prepared, so they had an emergency procedure and chem/bio gear available at the department), than actually being worried .
