I got some pictures off of my phone today. Apparently it's been a while, because there were tons of pics, most of which I totally forgot I even had. So here's a few random pictures.
Me and my cat, I think she's about 14 now (though she doesn't look it). She stayed with my parents when I moved out. She is an even bigger cuddle monster than I am, which you'd think is almost impossible. There's hardly anyone she doesn't like, and she's not scared of strangers at all (as long as they pet her, she likes them ). Her favourite petting is being scratched on the head, she totally goes overboard and follows you hand wherever it goes so you can keep petting her. And her favourite is to be held like a baby so you can cuddle with her. Don't try to scratch her belly though, even though it's exposed. She'll claw your hand right off . I learned that the hard way .
She's really protective of the house and yard, and our other cats before they passed away. One of my parents' friends has a dog, and they come over regularly. One of our other cats (black male) was really afraid of him, so the dog loved to chase him and get him all wound up. Untill we got my cat. Whenever he chased the black cat, my cat would chase the dog and literally sink her claws into his ass. He soon stopped chasing the black cat, and now nervously scouts the room before entering when he's over .
She's mostly an indoor cat, though she occassionally does feel like going outside. Never much further than the yard though. Whenever she sees another cat in our yard, she gets really aggressive and starts to claw at the back door to be let out. As soon as the door opens, she'll run and charge at the trespassing cat, and stops as soon as the other cat clears the fence. Then she'll mosey back inside. One time she tried that just a few days after my parents closed off the porch with a chainlink door. There has been a big dent in that door ever since .
I love her.
This is my brother's cat, who stayed with me when my brother was on vacation.
Here are some pictures of foodblogs I never did (partly for running out of batteries halfway through).
cupcakes
asparagus wrapped in ham, with potatoes and and grilled chicken breast
View from the top floor of the university I work at, overlooking the campus. On a clear day, you can see Amsterdam airport (there's only a small lake and a small park between the university and airport). Right behind the big chimneys of the university's powerplant is the university hospital I also work for (my department is shared between the university and the hospital).
Not really visible, but here you can see the gridlocked cars I pass every day to work, while the train I'm in is going past them with 75 miles per hour. This is one of 3 traffic jams I pass each day both to and from work, all with between 1 and 3 miles of non-moving traffic on an average weekday. Trains realy are the best way to gt around in this country.
Snow back in january or february, viewed from the train.
I got nothing more really. Going out to dinner tomorrow, for my mom's birthday. We got her a new phone for her gift. Monday some family is coming over for her birthday. Monday is also a day off here, I think I'm mostly just gonna chill out. Tuesday I should be getting my Angel monsterbox, I think I need to reorganize my DVD collection to make room for it.
What are all your plans?
