This weeks @bloghomework is Do you have a nickname? How did you get it?
I've had little nicknames between certain friends, but none have really stuck, or not so much "stuck" but more than less transferred between more then a couple people. Except for one: "Beans" or a variety of variations of that name.
It all started the day I was born. Palm Sunday. When my grandmother started calling me Jelly Bean, soon that caught on to everyone in my family and all our close family friends. Jelly Bean, Baby Bean, Beans, Bean Head, and the every so popular "Beaners".
When I hit puberty and got an attitude I hated that nickname. Most people hear that nickname and assume I'm gassy or something, when in reality it was just because I was born near Easter. But as I got older I got over that, and don't care and have grown to love and accept my silly little nickname. I especially love the variation "Beaners" because I'm a stoner girl. And ironically enough, my dad, who's the biggest weed smoker I know, came up with that variation haha.
It's funny how certain things stick. And it's funny how not every nickname a person has is one they picked. I am Beans. And I am proud.
