When's the moment you officially knew you had become an "adult"?
I became an adult when I learnt how to respect and love myself.
I started to stand up for what I believed in, I knew exactly how I should be treated as a human being. I began to embrace my lumps and bumps, the way that my body just is. I figured out what I wanted out of meaningful friendships and relationships. I also learnt that friends are much better in quality than quantity. I learnt that loving your body and having confidence to wear and do whatever you want (like posing naked on the internet), did not mean that you didn't have any self respect. I learnt to love myself and decide when enough was enough. I learnt to respect myself and knew when to take myself out of toxic situations.
I became an adult when I learnt to start bringing other women up and not put them down.
I observed my behaviour and thought to myself, "Why am I being so nasty? What am I getting out of this? How is this productive?" and I found my answer. I took my insecurities out on the people I wished I could be. It didn't excuse my behaviour but from then on I learnt that spreading love and expressing admiration was a much more loving and beneficial feeling for both parties. Being kind is so important.
I became an adult when I opened myself up to learning and loving.
Becoming an adult is subjective to everyone and their life journey. Even though legally at 18 I was classed as an adult, I've had many responsibilities like a job, bills, etc. although I feel I really didn't become an adult until I let my mind and heart grow.
