So yesterday morning I was eating some breakfast and having some coffee when my phone rang. (alright back story time) I used to hang out with a guy named Ira. Back in the party days. His old roommate used to DJ at a goth club. We would go there every wednesday night and get all hammered. Niether of us are goth, but we would get all gothed out like it was halloween or something. I wish I had pictures because we were nuts. Leather pants, shiny shirts, knee high boots, black nail polish, eyeliner... the works. We worked nights together in a grocery store. We would go to his house for lunch. 7 minute french dips, bong tokes and whiskey and dr. pepper, then back to work. Those were the days. Anyway, we hadn't seen each other in 4 years. I did a search on Myspace and found a profile for him. So I sent him a message. Then I went and looked at his profile again and saw he hadn't logged in in over a year. So I looked at his friends list and found a girl that I kinda hooked up with on new years one year. She lives in Michigan so it was just a one time thing and I hadn't talked to her since. I didn't even know if she would remember me, but the 2 of them had been friends for 15 years. Sent her a message and she replied saying that she hadn't talked to him in a year and a half because they had had a falling out. But she sent me the last phone number she had for him and his email address. Well, the phone number was old but I emailed him. He replied and we exchanged numbers and whatever. That was about 3 months ago. I have thought of calling, but just never "got around to it" I guess. Well, he called me yesterday. It turns out that we live 5 blocks from each other! So we hung out for a couple of hours yesterday. It's really cool to get reconnected with an old friend.
