hi guys! I haven't posted a proper blog in so long but I have been sooooo busy! Anyway, I'll post a massive blog full of photos soon but for now I'll tell you about my latest tour adventures!
So, as per usual, I joined my lovely friends from Black Dahlia on tour in the UK! I love these guys so much and had the most amazing time! The tour started in Nottingham where me and my best friend Kay met up with everyone at Rescue Rooms and let me tell you, those are some amazing backstage rooms! The band played amazingly as always and afterwards we all went to the pub for beers and games of mario kart! (They're might of even been a bit of a play fight/boxing match after the pub during drunken shenanigans)
The next day I left Kay and made the journey up to Leeds. I love Leeds and know the city well so it was pretty easy for me being on my own. As soon as I arrived I booked in with my tattooist to get my other arm tattooed and finished and then headed to the hotel.
A few hours (and drinks) later I headed down to Key Club. I went straight in and found the guys and fuck! It was so different to the previous venue! The backstage was tiny and confusing but as always the guys still played an amazing show! Added note: I went on a wander through some pitch black areas of the venue with only my lighter to see my way and during the gig got kicked in the face and had a pretty bad nose bleed! After the gig we all went for food, smoked weed from an apple and then loaded the bus, had a quick hang and I said my goodbyes (very sad times as I always hate leaving these guys!)
After this I then had a day off in Leeds and so decided to grab some food and check out some new pubs I'd not been to.
The following day I met up with @felis and @chibbi for food at this amazing place that serves the best ramen and had koi swimming under a bridge by our table
Me and @chibbi then went to our hotel to get ready to go and see Aiden (once again at Key Club). I had the most amazing time! It was so lovely getting to see and hang out with her again, to get to know the lovely Ben and see William who I haven't spoken to/seen in what feels like forever! After the show the 3 of us went back to the hotel for a shit ton of alcohol and awful impressions
The next day was goodbyes again and a lunch date at Wagamama before a slight coach mishap leaving me and Ben to get a taxi all the way from Leeds to Birmingham (it was not a pleasant journey)
I was then back in Birmingham! I dropped all my stuff at the venue and went to my old drinking hole, had a few pints and headed back to the venue. I met a bunch of new people (who were lovely) and the band were, yet again, amazing! There was many fun times on the bus, backstage, in the gig and a lot of people had fun watching me continuously forget the door code and getting locked out of the upstairs of the venue. After the gig a bunch of us went to Subside as they'd sorted us out with a shit ton of free drinks- let's just say I drank a LOT of vodkas and Coke and got quite tipsy. We then all pulled back in the bus, drank more beers and had a good laugh on the way back to my home town.
I miss that week so much already and this will forever be my favourite photo:
A week later I was back on the road and once again met up with Kay to go and see Coheed and Glassjaw in Manchester. I had the best day showing her around the city (as she'd never been) and drinking a lot of whiskey pre gig. The show was phenomenal and a big thank you to everyone who said hello to me! I even got to meet Claudio afterwards!
So there you have it. And it's not even over yet! On Monday I'm going to see my lovely friend Kevin Devine play Birmingam and then on Friday its Slipknot, Suicidal Tendencies and ducking SIKTH!
I'll update again after that and the many more gigs I have coming up! Thanks for reading if you did <3
