So for work today I represented the company at the local high-school career fair. I hate my company. Loathe it, actually, and it's one aspect of audio engineering that bores even audio-fiends like myself. Anyway, my coworker and I pooled our resources and brought in a mobile ProTools rig and let the kids record whatever.

mostly amateur rappers came out of the woodwork, but there were some vesper girls and some punk rock girls that sang along to some pre-recorded beats.

The funniest part was, they stuck us right smack dab in the middle of the engineering section, between an architecural firm and an industrial robotics company. Pure vanilla, coat-and-tie.

Needless to say, we had the most popular booth hands down. Some of the cool kids recognized us from our respective bands, and that was way rad.

Today, I didn't hate my job so much. In fact, I actually drove home proud.

I'm now sitting in my favorite bar in town, with a $1 margarita and some chips and salsa. I don't know a soul here aside from the bartender Sherri, and the sunset is gorgeous. Today is a good day.
