Being a PA sucks. And the worst part is that it probably sucks more for me than any normal kid who gets a PA job straight out of college. Because at least then you are still new and fresh-faced and all that other crap.
But no, this is a HUGE step downward for me. I was actually credited as a producer on several reality shows... and I gave it all up to work in scripted TV. So people seem to feel the need to treat me like an autistic child, hand-holding me through everything. I know that scripted TV is A LOT different from reality, and I have learned a lot, but I'm not a moron people!
Oh, and my two production coordinators have awful grammar. It makes me sick to my stomach.
Suffice it to say, I think this will be my last PA job unless it is a REALLY sweet opportunity (like a writers PA or something). I would actually make about the same money on unemployment (maybe $50 less). The moment this job is over I am going to try to get myself some freelance journalism and casting work (which I have done in the past, is a lot less stressful and pays way better). And sometimes I think it would just be easier to find an agents and sell my scripts than to find a job as a writer's assistant. Sad, huh?
In the meantime, though, today was very slow, so I was able to do a good solid block of writing (I am working on a script for "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" right now. It is my new obsession and my story is AWESOME! I haven't been this proud of something I have written since the Buffy script I wrote in high school - I still use that script as an example of my writing).
Oh yeah, and Insaniac got me hooked on World of Warcraft. That bastard.
