Ok, so I am home, so I decided to share with you all an amusing anecdote from today. When you sober up in three or four days, you may enjoy this.
Scene: Me standing in line at the drugstore, picking up baby asprin for my bunny. Woman and her kid standing in line in front of me, buying several items. I have had a horrible cugh for the last 4 days, but I'm not sick - it's just a fucked-up throat thing.
Me: (cough)
Woman: (looks at me nervously)
Me: (cough)
Woman: (pushes her kid out of the way so that she could scoot another 6 inches away from me)
Me: (cough)
Woman (speaking in a near-panic to cashier who is having a hard time ringing an item up): Forget it, just forget it! Can't you see she's coughing?
Me: Ma'am, I'm not diseased. It's just a throat problem.
Woman: It doesn't sound like a throat thing.
Me: If you are so afraid of germs, you shouldn't be leaving the house.
Woman: No, you shouldn't be leaving YOUR house!
Then she grabs her kid and takes off. I wanted very much to follow her, coughing all the way.
