So I've got some thinking to do.
I've been filling out job aps like a madman the past few days...last night I applied to WaWa for a manager and an asst manager position (it's like 7-11, it's a major chain in NJ, PA, DE, MD and VA for those of you nowhere near here).
Today I got a call back from WaWa...good pay scale, room for advancement, etc, etc...but there's a problem...
I'd have to cut off the goatee.
It doesn't sound like too big of a deal, but except for a couple years back when I started at Bally's, I've had it for about 12 years, and I like it. The girl interviewing me gave me her number and told me to think about it...she could understand why it could be a dealbreaker.
Now, it's not a total loss...getting a reaction that quickly from a major chain from an online application made me feel pretty good...it reminds me I'm the type of employee companies look for.
I also have been sending information about a tutoring job that they listed pays $50 an hour. I passed the first stage and just sent them the hours I would be available. If I could pick up 20 hours a week I'd be making more then enough to cover the bills, and I could pick up a part time job for some extra cash. Plus, it could lead to a career in teaching.
Which leads to what I need to think about...I could find a good paying job in retail management, but it wouldn't satisfy me. Do I go for the $ and the security that comes with it? Or, do I bust my ass working a couple low paying jobs and try to figure out what I really want to do with my life?
Guess I should figure it out before the money runs out.
