From: The Feckin' Book of Everything Irish
(she's) bet down with a shovel (expression)
(see also Face like a full skip, Face like a pig licking piss off a nettle, Face like a smacked arse, Ganky, Head like a lump of wet turf, Wagon)
She's ugly. (Galway)
(usage) "I think describing Lucy as 'having a head that looks bet down with a shovel' was being a bit too honest..."
I love this book already...the discount racks at B Dalton books are always entertaining.
In other news, I signed my lease yesterday. In about two weeks I'll be hauling my life to the city of Philadelphia, so I've got much to do.
After that was done I drove to the Philadelphia Park slot parlor/raceway...I wanted to say hi to an ex co-worker of mine who I hadn't seen in almost a year. She pointed out that all the women working there are gorgeous and like to party after work...I was tempted to put in an application.
No new job news at the moment...I was waiting for my new address, so now I have to change my resume and such and get back on the hunt. I have enough socked away to cover the bills for a month or so, so I'm not freaking out about spending a little time unemployed.
So, how is everybody?
