Still a little sick, but feeling much better...let me catch y'all up...
Friday I went to a liquidation sale in Atlantic City...but it wasn't just any old place having it, it was the Sands hotel & casino. Ya see, they got bought out, and the new owners are going to implode the place and build a whole new casino while they wait for their gaming license to be approved. Sooooo...everything must go...if it's not still connected to the electric system, you can buy it.
The metal railing on the stairs? You can buy it.
The poker tables (minus the felt top)? You can buy it.
The popcorn maker in the employee cafateria? Uh-huh.
Jacuzzi?
Uglly purple furniture?
Yup.
*on a side note...just don't ever buy a matress from a casino like I saw people doing...trust me...ewwwwww*
It was $10 to get in...the price of admission was worth it to me just to wander around the place. The top floor suites are amazing, two floors with a spiral staircase between them. One of them is where Frank Sinatra used to stay...it was cool to see where he used to hang. Sorry for the sucky pictures...no cameras were allowed in, so I snapped a few on my cell phone.
So what did I get? Glasses. Beer glasses, coffee glasses, martini, brandy, etc...I'm thinking about going back for more. I liked some of the end tables and such, but for what they're charging I can go get a new one. Still, a fun afternoon.
Work's been strange this week...we just got an odd crowd in. Today I put in my two weeks notice...a few of my managers had suspected, so they weren't shocked, but I caught a few of them completly off-guard. All of them that I've seen so far have been really cool...they know I'm just ready for a change and they've been wishing me the best. But I think the greatest thing is that the slot attendants I'm in charge of have have been telling me how much they're going to miss me. If I've learned anything over the years, it's that earning the respect of the people you're in charge of means more then any bonus or commendation that comes from your bosses. I'm in charge of the best crew in the place, and I'm gonna miss 'em.
Ok, before I get all sappy, let me move on...one more thing for now...wanted to share some more of my photoshoped stuff. The first is a small version of a wallpaper I made from a ocean shot in Hawaii...
sorry...you gotta right click it or check my album for the full image...I didn't want to shrink it any more.
And...some windmills outside of AC that generate power for the city run through a couple of the art filters.
Ah photoshop...my current distraction.

Nice! I like the purple couch! From afar, and I'd hit it-- with a firebomb or molatov cocktail..(!)
What are ya up to?
too freaking hysterical on the "buy anything that's not chained down to the property" concept...
and yes! of course we can have Starbucks - as long as they're not out of Oat Fudge Bars & Strawberry Frapuccinos!
