So all the presents have been wrapped and Santa has made his deliveries. In a few hours a five year old will be yelling "WAKE UP UNCLE JIMMY! SANTA WAS HERE!" into my face because it's time to open presents. I'll stagger towards the living room, my sister will hand me and my bro-in-law some banana flavored coffee, and when everything's been opened up we'll sit down to breakfast while my niece runs around like a damn fool.
I took the whole weekend off from work this year and I'm glad I did. It's nice to have a day or two with the family, because in the upcoming year I'll be looking to move away from the area and I don't know when I'll be home for Christmas again.
Before I settle in for my short winter's nap (ok, maybe after one more viewing of "A Christmas Story" on TBS) I wanted to wish everyone happy holidays. No matter what your faith it's the time of year to remember what's important...family, friends, peace on earth and goodwill towards men.
...and spiked eggnog...can't forget that...
