I lost my virginity!! My stock trader virginity that is. I played with the virtual trader for the last week and did pretty well, except Friday was kind of a downer, not bad but counteracted a lot of the good. So far so good. So I took $1000 out of our savings and decided to play with that for a while before I mess with our whole savings. I ended up going with Scottrade because they have an office close to my house and no one had any huge objections to them. So I bought my first real stocks today. Now I need to get back to doing my actual school work and stop watching videos and reading about how trading works and how to read charts. We'll see how I do with this. I actually have a full courseload at the University this semester I've been kind of slacking. I did get A's on all of my midterms I just did though. I need to keep it up though.
If I fail with my money management I guess there are always casinos, lol. Just kidding. I don't think going to the casino counts as a viable financial strategy. Though I'm always really lucky at casinos. I am not fond of the whole casino ambiance, but I will go if friends drag me. I often find myself wandering around kind of bored since I don't like the tables. Each time I end up sitting at some random machine and winning whatever the minor jackpot is. I won $4800 on a 10 cent bet once. I guess if I had put in more than a dime it would have been like 480,000 so maybe I was not as lucky as I should have been but it was a dime, on the way out of the place, so what can I say? I won $160 on a quarter another time and various $40 and $60 jackpots always on the nickle and dime machines. And I don't gamble often, I've probably total in my life actually spent less than $100 on gambling and that isn't like balancing profit and loss. I'm up well over $5000 from my occasional gambling excursions.

Thank you so much for the kind words and advice. It definitely eased my mind a little bit. Oh I am definitely not gonna pre-spend the money.
