OK, eTrade or Scottrade? Who has used either? I'm taking over our retirement accounts because there is NO way I could do worse than the fund manager we had. Our retirement account has been decimated. My husband is 35. He is has medical issues which many people don't even live to 35 with. His ability to live to retirement age, let alone WORK is not really even something we think about and now we have watched our retirement shrink to 1/4 of what it was. It's like starting all over.
So who has used either of these or any other online trading services? Which one do you like the best? Why? Anybody?

Mojomonster brings up a good point though, if Etrade goes through bankruptcy it will be a pain. Of the other discount brokers, I hear the most good things about Ameritrade. Assuming you're doing buy-and-hold of broad indexes, all the discount brokers are similar. Ameritrade's good capitalization may move it to the top of the pile.
