Well my freedom is at risk again. More of my overzealous yard cop bullshit. More of the perpetual harassment I get for being the freak on my block. My yard is neat and tidy, I'm out working in it all the time. How bad can a yard that gets as much attention as mine does really be that bad. Generally you mow the lawn, trim the trees now and then and keep the weeds down to a bare minimum and what can anyone really complain about?
Well when you are me, it seems they can find all kinds of stuff to complain about. They are always complaining, constantly. I have decided this is just total bullshit and I'm not going to pay the fines. I'd rather go to jail than support this kind of extortion crap. Especially when I am the only house on the block who gets it. I have neighbors who have a few weeds over 8 inches high and I get fined for a single one that is 6.5 inches tall a couple days after we have a major rain. It is just not even right. I was reading the statistics on these yard police. Annually 90 yard cops are murdered by people they harass and over 10,000 are assaulted. Those are some pretty interesting numbers to me. These are not hardened criminals who are assaulting these asswipes. These are home owners, normal every day people who have been pushed so far that they snap. Everyday, ordinary people being pushed over the brink to commit acts of murder and violence. So I wonder what do numbers like this say? DO they speak of America as a violent nation or are they ringing more of the roots of America as a nation, supposedly founded on freedom and our people's inherent desire for freedom? Do these numbers say Americans do not like to be regulated and nitpicked in their own homes? They say you don't mess with a man's home. I'd say having these inspectors come around and harass people in their homes over the most preposterous little things is maybe more than people raised with "It's a free country" drilled into our heads are able to wrap their ego's around. I think when the KKK is protected and allowed to exist and speak their hate freely, when other groups we may or may not agree with are allowed to shut down major streets, intersections and public transportation lines just to express their opinions, it is unconscionable I am being strong-armed into going out to my side yard every day, during wind, and rain, while sick, or busy or otherwise indisposed to pull whatever grass has decided to sprout up just to stay out of jail. How is it my 6.5 inch weed is more destructive to the fiber of this nation and this neighborhood than people spouting hate? How is it when my car gets broken into or my son gets hit by a car they won't even take a police report or finger prints but if I have a 6.5 inch weed I have to tie up the court system for 3 months and appear before a judge 3-4 times. How can this be? How is this right? How is this fair or just? How does this promote a strong neighborhood? I know one of my neighbors is calling the yard police about me. Because of this, I hate my neighbors. I hate all of them because I don't know who it is who keeps calling on me so I blanketly hate them all right now. If I see someone breaking into a neighbors house, or graffiting a neighbors fence, I would just as well stop and offer to help the thief or vandals out than lift a finger to stop it. So much for building a strong neighborhood. So much for a free America. If I don't even have the freedom to perform maintenance on MY yard in MY time then what do I have? I don't know but it sure doesn't seem like freedom to me.

What kind of fucked up neighborhood do you love in! Damn that is just crappy! There has to be some kind of leeway. People get sick, go on vacation etc etc etc
