I picked out a ring at a pawn store. Oh is it ever beautiful. An antique (because I LOVE antique rings and other antique jewelry, anything with a history) with 1 HUGE center stone with more sparkle than I have ever seen and 6 small sparkly friends to keep it company. And it fit me perfectly!
But alas, mad as I was about being told to get my own gift, (because I'm too hard to shop for) when he started bitching about the cost I did not buy it. Instead I refused any gift and have been very unfriendly. If you tell someone to pick something out then you better be ready for whatever they pick or otherwise give them a price range, or better yet, don't be a tool and do your own shopping.
My ass is getting sore from all of the recent kissing. He tried to buy me the ring, dragged a friend down to appraise it, and has been harriedly trying to appease my unhappiness, but I decided the meaning of it is ruined. Why would I want to have something I had to be all bitchy to get and that caused so much trouble. If it's going to be like that, I have a credit card, I can buy it myself. But what is the point?
This is the problem with having a thing for geeks and nerds. As awesome as it is to have a guy around who can set up my surround thing, buys me a cell phone that surfs the internet and who I can volunteer to fix all of my friends computer problems, when it comes to romance and completely impractical gifts they really have no clue what so ever.
Oh well, someday he'll figure it out ...... Or I'll move on and find someone who already has figured it out. My birthday is around the corner. We'll see how that goes. I have a sneaky suspicion I won't be asked to come pick something out myself. lol

And in other news, I decided I wanted to learn how to build a house, so I volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. I want to say if anyone has ever wondered about doing this, it is good times and you really do learn a TON! I think anyone who ever wants to or does own their home owes it to themself to do this. I think I am going to save a bundle in home repairs!
And after my Habitat house last weekend I and some girlfriends got together and painted one of our girlfriends houses. The place was so dingy and sad looking a coat of blush and a vibrant coat of red and BANG!!! Her place is well on its way to FABULOUS! I love doing stuff like this, and I love having friends who I can do stuff like this with. This weekend, after my habitat house, I am going to help her lay Pergo.
