Hey SG land!
It's been a minute since my last blog. How are you, how was everyone's summer?! Mine was pretty up and down emotionally+physically...but there's one event I'd be remised not to write about. My Pinkaversary was July 1!!!
Three years ago July 1, 2017 I had my first SOTD "No Place Like Home" shot by @milloux. This set is so special...it marked my first trip to the LA famed Suicidegirls house, and some very memorable first introductions.
I got to spend some time with @milloux who from day 1 has always been the kindest, most chill, most humble, supportive, fun loving girl you'll ever meet. She welcomed me in with open arms and I had no idea years later we'd still be such close friends<3
I got to visit the SG HQ and meet the babes who helped run this community for years: @lyxzen who I'm glad to still call a friend today, and other office greats like @kiley!
I spent a whole day there stomping around LA with milloux and @sunny we even got to stream live for SG IG....I'll never forget this day...feeling so loved and making friends with all the babes was great.
The cherry on top this trip was being able to shoot my first (and only to date) set in the SG house.
@milloux really is an artist behind the camera. I remember calling her a "cat" because of her willingness to crawl over things, lay on her back, slide and slither across surfaces that seemed so feline-like all in her attempts (and success) of getting the very best angles!
It really is a trip looking back at this first SOTD. I've grown so much and yet can still see the drive, the determination to perfect an art form that was still so new to me. I was like a sponge; eager to soak up any and all tips from the pros who surrounded me. Mostly, I was just grateful to be there...to be seen, to make new friends, for the experience, and for the opportunity to be really great at something I loved.
I love these two so stinking much!! Love that we got to meet this first trip and are still just as close @sarissle <3 we so need to shoot a future set one day soon!
My second SOTD was a beautiful blue collab with @sobelle! I had been such a fan of her soft light and vibrant tones this set seemed meant to be! We shot this set the night after my first SG Christmas Party in Chicago....and wow did we have fun! @missy came to town and we had a blast hanging and dancing the night away.
I remember @sobelle being surprised that I was there the next morning bright and early on time to shoot...my nerdy secret was that I was so anxious to be around so many admired SG that I actually didn't drink that night prior for fear of cutting *too* loose so I was able to keep my cool haha
My third SOTD is from such a memorable few days spent with more SG family! "Sunday Morning" was shot by @penny in Chicago the same weekend I attended my first C2E2 working the SG booth!
This set was first time shooting with @penny and certainly not my last. This was before she was a staff photographer, yet her skill and comfortability behind the lens spoke volumes. We laughed--a lot--during this set! She had a manual lens which meant a lot more 'holding' back arch and kitty poses than one is used to from a tog who shoots in digital. I gotta say, it was all worth it! This set is so natural and you can really see me enjoying myself<3
I was fortunate enough to work C2E2 two years in a row. This was my first chance working any booth event for SG and I still treasure all the amazing cosplay I got to see. SO many great ideas brought to life everywhere. I loved working the booth, representing SG, meeting fans, and garnering new memberships for the site. I didn't know it at the time, but this was my first intro and would later spark my interest in doing cosplay myself!
No surprise that my 4th SOTD was my first cosplay set, "Sadness" shot by @writeboy was my take on my most favorite character from Inside Out. I went all in for this cosplay. I hired a MUA to do my makeup the most radiant shades of blue.
I did my hair in a bob like Sadness, ordered a sexier version of her long sleeve blue turtleneck, found blue circle glasses, and even got a memory ball to shoot with!
I wasn't sure how Sadness could translate into something that resembles sexy...but I think @writeboy and I hit a homer on this one, and you all seemed to agree!
My 5th SOTD was special because it marked my first time attending an official SG shootfest out of country! "Views From the 6" was shot in Toronto by @cersei
I still remember buying that bodysuit, I was so excited to shoot in it! I had never been to a shootfest before, let alone out of country to meet other babes in the community.
I got to meet ultra babes who loom larger than life such as @booba!!! I am SUCH a fan of everything she does. She's this ball of energy and goes above and beyond to be wildly supportive. Thanks for the laughs @booba I had a feeling we'd connect instantly upon meeting, and we did!
I took advantage of being in Toronto and caught a baseball game watching the Blue Jays! Toronto was a great place, and a bustling little city...I would definitely go back given the chance.
My 6th SOTD was my first multi shot by @adkc ...I was so honored to work with serious megababe @sunniejones!! She is the SWEETEST human ever.
I wish I had more BTS from this day...but Sunnie and I were so excited to see each other that day we did so much talking, laughing, and posing for @adkc we didn't take too many pics together! Fun fact: @sunniejones and I were part of a group multi for content with a few other ladies prior to this. We had such hot chemistry during that shoot, she approached me a short time later about shooting some multi content the 2 of us<3 Swooooonnn!! I couldn't believe what I was hearing...I was a little timid at first, but as soon as the camera started clicking we really became one. Our chemistry was so natural, and we had a blast licking, hugging, kissing, and peeling down with each other for an ode to Chicago, and a banger multi set!!
My 7th SOTD is another created during the Toronto shootfest; "Can I Kick It?" shot by @atlanticlungs was both a way to honor my love of Tribe Called Quest, and these sick ass new AF1 limited edition hightops I got ;)
I also remember buying this cute set! It was remarkably affordable and I loved how the yellow really brought out the sunshine in me and contrasted so sharply with my skin.
Meeting @atlanticlungs was too cool! This set was bought right after she turned staff for SG so it was nice being able to help celebrate another WIN with her<3 All the Aussie babes seem to be known for their kindness and willing to be inclusive, and she was no exception. 10/10 would shoot with her again!
My 8th SOTD was my first time shooting with the famed @caustix. Despite the way his name largely looms around the site as a growing contender for some of the 'most bought, most loved' sets....he was such a humble, soft-spoken, and kind human. I was really so grateful to cross paths with him! Fun fact: I shot this set smack in the middle of one of those fast food for breakfast and beer for dinner summers (oops) and well, when I saw the proofs I thought for sure I was not submitting this LOL. Caustix was not really hearing it, he gently silenced those fears and coaxed me into submitting the set. Seems he has an eye and knows his work better than I do....this was my MOST LOVED set to date!! A friendly reminder that the way we see our bodies, is not always in line with the perception of others.
My 9th SOTD found me again inking with one of my favorite photographers, and a serious pal of mine @penny! She was so tickled when I told her I found the most perfect 80s themed set to shoot. Bright colors, fun hair, bendy and athletic poses, make this one of my most fun sets to date! Also, @penny how do we not have more pics together after all the times we've hungout?! haha
This set was a blast to shoot, and it helped that it was at my favorite shootfest to date! @penny hosted an amazing weeklong adventure in Chicago and I got to link up with babes I'd met before like @sunniejones<3 Thanks for all the memories dancing around in the kitchen haha that was too much fun!
And get naked hugs+cuddles from pals like @booba who I hadn't seen since Toronto!!! We really are such goofballs when we get together hehe, love you Booba!! She shot an amazing set in my bedroom that shootfest that's live now. Go check it out and help her get FP!
I got to finally squeeze a longtime online crush in person @hex....we spent a whole night going out in Boystown and watching drag shows. Ugh, what a fun night I miss you @hex!!!
That was such a fun week and well organized shootfest. It brought together tons of babes+togs alike and I was happy to be a part of the festivities!
My 10th SOTD brought me back to another solid collab with @sobelle! "Lady Liberty" was shot in Chicago on a hot summer day last June on my back porch in the city! I wasn't sure of how it would go being in an outdoor location, and the tight area to shoot in...but @sobelle is a photography wizard! There's a reason she's one of the longest, most experienced staff togs on the site.
She did a phenomenal job with the editing on this set, and it really came out great! We worked with what we had to bring the heat...and boy was it hot! You have no idea how messy and sticky this was to shoot LOL I'm just so glad it was appreciated<3
That night after shooting we linked up with a few more local babes and headed to the official Pride fest happening in Boystown.
I had so much fun with @loveless stomping around the city making an absolute spectacle of ourselves ;) Thank you @loveless for so many good memories this trip....I love you babe, so happy we've crossed paths along the way<3
I have so many things to be grateful for. I CANNOT believe I have *10* SOTD so far this is wild. Thank you to @missy @sean @rambo for believing in me, and giving me opportunity to grow, stumble, and learn about myself along the way. Thank you to every member of this community, some closer than others, for your engagement, convos, support, and continuous listening ears along the way. Thank you a TON to all the amazing ladies tagged in this blog+more. It's been a wild ride and I'm just so humbled to be one small part of something this great and meaningful. To all the hopefuls: keep going!! I didn't go pink until my third set, for me it was not instant. I worked hard and soaked in everything I could from those who do it best. It's funny to think of what we do 'modeling' as a skill. But it is--it's an art form practiced and perfected by some truly talented people, and I hope to continue my appreciation and love for this craft. Anywho, lastly if you're still listening....you rock!! Thanks for being a part of my journey. These pics took a while to dig out, please appreciate ;)
Xoxo,
Midnight
