Last month I had the pleasure of flying to San Diego for the 2nd year in a row to help run the Suicidegirls booth at San Diego Comicon. It was another weekend filled with laughs, fans, and amazing cosplay! I even debut a new cosplay...and guesses who?!
I was Elastigirl from The Incredibles!! I’m still a bit new to cosplay...I remember feeling nervous to wear it because it wasn’t “perfect”. But ya know what? I MADE THE WHOLE LOOK. Put all of it together myself👏🏾
I think I’m starting to *get* the whole lure to cosplay. It’s an emotional investment. All the days, weeks, even months put into planning, shopping for that one little piece, sewing, hot glue, fabric stores...the self-doubt, insecurities and apprehension. When the big day comes and your outfit comes together just as you’ve envisioned then people recognize you with admiration and request a picture....that’s the magic!! It all pays off. Tbh, I’m a bit hooked+already looking forward to my next cosplay!! Plus I got to look v experienced standing next to “professional” cosplayers like @calaveraa!!😉
Other models were killing it too! @penny wowed on both says as Wednesday Adams and Deadpool! Even caused quite the crowd when we found a whole Deadpool posse😅😍
Running the booth is a win/win because I get to spend time w my favorite babes, and bond with new ones!!

Speaking of cosplay...I’m always so amazed at the creativeness and high level of intricacy some go with their characters.

We rode scooters around till wee hours of the morning and laughed till our bellies ached. Thank you so much Suicidegirls for the amazing opportunity. Always a blast working the SDCC booth I’m looking forward to next year! I don’t have many pics w fans, mostly because they took them on their phones :/ if you’ve got em, post em and tag me so I can see!
