Greetings and happy new year all, I hope everyone's holidays were enjoyable.....and no one killed any relatives😌This weeks blog topic came at the perfect time!! Okay here goes.....not many of you know this but growing up in Alaska I was a competitive gymnast🙈Yup. Secret revealed. Floor and beam were my favorite events, while I tolerated bars and vault. I did gymnastics from ages 6-17 and this eventually led me to cheerleading.
Before you laugh, know that these were some of the happiest years of my life!!! I miss competing so much. The tight leotards, spraying my butt w Elmers glue so they stay, always having 845275 bobby pins on hand, ripped and callus hands, nasty toes often with blisters, and tape for daysssss. If you look closer you'll notice I'm shaped like an upside down triangle--typical of a gymnast--my upper body was trained to be very strong which left it looking rather boxy haha and my waist small. Anywho ask any gymnast what's on her bucket list and she'll happily say to watch gymnastics on the highest level of competition there is.....The Olympics😍✨Last year hubby and I traveled to Greece and visited the site of the ORIGINAL Olympics. Yes the modern games were in Athens, however, the original Olympic Games were held in Olympia. If you ever get the chance check it out!! You can walk through the actual site and walk the track of the first 100m dash. This year my dream having done the history side of the Olympics, is to travel to Rio and watch the present day summer games!!✈️I'll try and not desinegrate into a pile of mush if I watch team USA compete during the first four days starting August 5 and in the opening ceremony. I've been to a lot of places by this would definitely top my list😃
Thanks @missy @rambo @lyxzen💕💕
