This weeks blog couldn't have come at a better time! I've spent quite a bit of time in the kitchen shooting my second set Who Doesn't Love Chocolate, and yummy food has definitely been on my mind🙆🏾Here's a bit of self disclosure for you guys....before my parents moved to Alaska 33 years ago they both grew up in inner city NY. My mom was born in the south and as such most of her family still resides there today. Soul food is the stuff that gives me life at family gatherings😊Although the origins of these meals were popular among blacks long before, the term Soul Food didn't catch on until the 60s. As blacks migrated to Northern cities after slavery they carried traditions with them to keep a sense of identity in these new parts. Thus, Soul Food are typically southern foods that....remind us of family. My ultimate last meal would be: fried chicken, ham, candied yams, collard greens w/ham hocks, corn on the cob, baked mac n cheese, chitlins, deviled eggs, cornbread and some sweet tea😋
What would your last meal be?! Link me to your blogs I'd love to check them out! As always thanks to @missy @rambo @lyxzen for another rockin blog topic❤️
