success at last - just signed a lease on a new place. man, am i glad to finally have that chore behind me - the whole apartment-hunting thing i mean. it's pretty nice; a studio, like i have now, but a lot bigger, at a comparable price, in dupont circle. it's on the top floor of a three-story victorian-type row house. and it's got a private patio, which is really cool. well, not a patio exactly - you can crawl out the window onto kind of a roof area. but still ... i see barbecues in my future.
so, lease starts on the 9th, i've got a business trip to london and hamburg from the 28th to the 8th, and i'll pay my rent on my current place through the 15th, so that will give me a few days leeway when i get back to handle the transfer. it's going to be another mad busy month.
