I am alive.
Socks and I have settled in nicely at the flat. I've developed elite fire starting skills over the past week and a bit as it has been fucking freezing. The other day we had a 11.8 degree frost. I heard on the news Aucklanders were moaning about a 2 degree frost. Pfft.
This week has been rather adventurous. On Tuesday night I went to see the local Musical Theatre Company production of Rocky Horror. It was so awesome! I got all dressed up and took along props and danced to the Time Warp. I just wish I had time to learn the proper audience participation script. Not a lot of people yelled out things but there were a few good moments.
On Wednesday half the power went out at work and we had to shut the shop. Pity they fixed it so we couldn't just go home. We had to shut off the power to all the computers and tills and reboot them one by one. Now, these things still run on Windows 95 and are as slow as hell, so you can imagine how frustrated customers and us staff were getting. Then they shoved me on the only working till while the customers lined up. One guy came up to Diane when everything was turned off and asked if she could just serve him because a taxi was waiting. Dumbass. Seriously, the stupidity of some of the customers never ceases to amaze me.
Last night I went to a local high school production of Les Mis. Some people might be thinking that Les Mis and school kids don't mix, but it was an incredible show. Some of the kids had the most gorgeous voices. It was funny watching all the younger brothers and sisters of people who were in my year up on the stage. I also managed to sit myself behind my two ex-best friends from high school. They're still snobby bitches and I'm glad I didn't talk to them much.
Now that I've written my novel I shall go and wander round the site a bit and catch up on what I've missed.
