My problem with so many fantasy TV shows on now is that, as a Dungeons & Dragons player with 40 + years of experience, there are very few situations these TV writers can cook up that me 'n my D&D buddies haven't been in and handled a fuck of a lot better than the TV characters do.

You know in sitcoms and romcoms, when the "homely" girl suddenly becomes "hot" when she loses her glasses and lets her hair down? Our educational system is royally fucked. What pisses me off is not just the lack of vocabulary skills, but the decline in elocution and phonetics. The way to really learn vocabulary like this is to verbalize the answers as you think of them. But that pedagogic theory fell out of favor. No wonder we're a nation of dumb-asses.
