Well, it's late late Sunday and I am (as usual) trying to get the most out of whee-kend before Monday starts. 7 mins to go. At least I've got some friends there to chat with. I think I've reversed my desire to go cyber (work out of home) in spite of the 40 mins door to door commute.
Having been divorced last year, I've got a child custody arrangement. I get two nights a week to hang out with my 3 daughters (Erina, Serina and Rayna) and then 3 out of 4/5 weekends a month starting on Friday night and ending Sunday at 7.
So tonight I took my daughters to their mom's house only to find her mother there waiting for them. I found out that their mom (henceforth referred to as "Y" for Yukiko) was in the hospital for her appendix. It was sudden but she has been there since the morning. I called her cell telling her I'd keep the kids with me overnight and take them to school etc but she got angry. She'd rather her elderly Japanese-only- speaking parents take care of them and have a neighbor take them to school/pick them up etc. than me.
I wasn't having any of that so they are now here fast asleep.
I stopped at my buddy Rick's house to see if he thought I did the right thing and basically he reminded me that I and Y are the only legal guardians of the kids so of course I did the right thing inspite of Y's protests that Sunday night was her turn to have the kids!
Well, besides that family drama (it's all good ), we had a good weekend. I took the kids to a nice park Saturday after having brunch together. In the evening I took them to a popular game shop where I played various board games with them while friends of mine played some minis games.
Sundays are usually my housecleaning days so today I completely revamped my outside shed. Amazing all the stuff that accumalates over a couple of years.
In the process I dug out all my old manga comics (aha....now you see the lurking motivation) from the 80's. I wanted to find some of the cool classics like Lone Wolf and Cub, Ranma Nibun no Ichi (1/2), Mai The Psychic Girl, Crying Freeman, Sanctuary, Usagi Yojimbo and many many many more. Yeah, I used to be a comic freak in my early teens.
Mixed in the hundreds of comics are many American ones. I'm probably going to reread the majority and decide which ones to ebay and which ones to keep for good.
I also decided to dig out my yearbook from HS and a scrapbook I had way back then. Hmm... I wonder what has taken ahold of me as I slowly turn 36 next month....

I had no idea that was the most expensive anime ever made and that they stopped and restarted production because they ran out of money (IMDB and SG are wonderful things ) - I need to get Nausicaa but haven't yet .
Yup, mine's coming up soon - I should post my wish list lol.
Altho at this point it's just another day, yaknow? no party, mostly no presents, altho I do take the day (or two days in this case as it's on a thursday this year) off from work - yay me!
And you're welcome.
